John F Dale


 

John F. Dale was born January 28, 1829 on a Kentucky farm.  He married Mattie Counts Colley, his second wife, on a farm near Richmond, Missouri in about 1853.  Mattie was born about 1845 near Richmond, Missouri.  She died on a farm near Keller, Texas and buried in Bourland Cemetery.

The family came to the Keller Community about the autumn of 1878 by way of covered wagon.  They were farmers and of Baptist faith.  John E. Dale served in the Civil War in the Home Guards of Ray County.

John F. and his first wife were the parents of the following children:

1) Henry P. Dale

2) Isaac Franklin Dale

3) Thomas Dale

4) Fannie Dale

5) Alice Dale

6) John McClellan Dale

7) Mattie May Dale

John F. and Mattie Counts Colley were the parents of:

1) George Monroe Dale

2) Edward Everett Dale

John F. Dale died December 1898 and is buried in Navajo Cemetery, Jackson County, Oklahoma.
