Ben Browning

Ben Browning and his wife, Amelia, came from Alabama to Texas.  They settled first near Ladonia in Fannin County.  Near the turn of the century, a son, Walter, came to the Keller community in Tarrant County and recommended the area to other members of his family

During the next few years, the parents and several of their children established permanent homes in the farming area north east of Keller.  The parents spent the remainder of their lives on a farm known later as the Helm place.  Grave stones in Bourland Cemetery bear the following inscriptions; B.N. Browning, April 1, 1837 – January 25, 1917.
